So today, I simply leave you with this quote and hope
to inspire all of you that are also going back to school, or
for those that are working and living your dream. :)

Who knew that Disney would be filled with such wisdom? :)

Hope you have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend!

A Happy Weekend

This weekend so far has been absolutely fantastic!
I decided yesterday to put down the textbooks and devote some time
to myself.  I had been working so hard the past week that I felt that
I was going to go crazy if I didn't take some time to relax!

But today I will be hitting the books hard as I prepare for the last few exams
I have left before finals!!
So scary how the time has flown by...

Anyways, I have had some time now to do some shopping
on the internet and really catch up on some cool ideas out there
that I really want to try!
From DIY projects to plaid outfit ideas, there are so many
great things to get excited about!!

Here are some of my favorites:

1.  The 20 of the Best Hair Tips You Will Ever Need.
And I mean seriously I would have NEVER thought of half
of these.  A must read to help maintain those luscious locks of yours!

2.  The Best Glazed Mixed Berry Scones
EVER.  Now, my man doesn't really care for scones in general,
most of the time it's because they are really dry and crumbly.
Honestly, this is why I don't like buying scones in a Starbucks drive-thru
or most places in general.  They can't get it right!!

This recipe though will change your life.
The boyfriend even said that these were the best scones he had ever
eaten period.  That is saying A LOT since he is the pickiest eater I know!!
One of the key ingredients as she will explain is sour cream, to which at first I
thought that was a little bit weird, but as I was making them, I quickly realized
that sour cream is the key to making soft and scrumptious scones!!
You know I even forgot to put in baking powder and they still turned out
perfectly fine.  Crazy in my opinion, but I'm not complaining if I can
get a great scone out of the recipe!! :)

3. Fall Fashion In General
This is by far my favorite season to dress!
I love getting cozy in a big sweater or wearing a chunky scarf
with mittens!!

These looks are just so heavenly and classy!
I want them all!!!!   :)

4.  Need a Dinner Idea?
Then check out these 30 soup recipes from
Gosh does she have so many great ideas!!
We made the creamy potato soup last night for dinner
and it was dynamite!!
Plus there was bacon in it and you can never go wrong with that! ;)

5.  Art Journals as a Therapy!
I have only very recently gotten into keeping an art journal
but I read a study that shows how much of a healing power
doodling can be to relieve stress from a traumatic experience.
Being able to have that creative outlet and really see a beautiful result
of something you made or drew is truly inspiring.

I found this on Pinterest and am hoping to soon start this!
A great quote to keep in mind, plus this is something fun to do!
Just simply wonderful.  :)

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!!

School Is In Session!

And oh my stars has it really taken off!
I'm in biochem this semester, which is a graduate
level course and I think we have gone through more material
than what I have ever needed to know for the first exam.

It has been really interesting and I love learning,
but I am struggling to find a balance of taking time for
myself again.

I will hopefully be posting more since this is something
that I love to do.
I love sharing all of the cool things I love and hope to inspire
all of you!

A huge thank you to my readers for being so patient with me!

Hope you have a fabulous day! :)

Food for Thought

Lately, I have been thinking about this a lot.

I think that many people can easily get caught up in the stress of daily life,
but it is SO important to take a moment and reflect on your life and realize
just how blessed you are.

I am so blessed for good health, a loving family, and a wonderful man in my life
who I am so lucky to call my best friend.

While I do have my days where life seems absolutely ridiculous,
I can't help it but realize that there is so much more good than bad.

What are you thankful for in your life?

Have a wonderful Monday!

Watching the Time

I am on the lookout for a fashionable watch.
One of my favorite brands is Kate Spade
and I could not help but fall in love with all of these:

I don't know which one to choose...
Can I just have them all? ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Relaxation: One of Life's Necessities

So one of the biggest things I have learned thus far in my academic career as an undergraduate student is that it is SO important to take care of yourself by taking time to relax.
Now, I'm a Biology and Microbiology major that pretty much had the attitude of "ain't nobody got time for that!"
Perhaps this might sound familiar to y'all?!

Through all of these tough times, I have realized just how important it is to relax.  It doesn't make me a bad student.  In fact, I think it makes me a better student to be able to study with a clearer head!

Cause lets face it: if you had to read a book like this all day and didn't take a break, you would probably go crazy too!

Thus I bring wise advice to you: how to relax!
  1.  Exercise- proven to cause a release of endorphins in your body, which helps your body to relieve its own physical stress!
  2. Candles-  I don't know what it is about candles, but the sweet scents and the little fire that gently glows while it burns has really helped me to calm my nerves.
  3. Pinterest-  may be a no brainer, but seriously getting all of these ideas on what to cook or how do turn an everyday ponytail into a gorgeous hairstyle is super fun and addicting.  And helps to relieve stress!  If you do not have a Pinterest, get one!!!  So much fun!
  4. Deep breaths- get some more oxygen to your brain and slow down your mind in the process!  All of those annoying thoughts that are running through your head at a million miles an hour will start to slow down and then you realize that things aren't so bad after all! :)
  5. Coffee- or any sort of comforting hot beverage.  Help yourself to get relaxed and cozy by drinking something that is warm and toasty!
  6. Do something crafty- I really like to knit.  Knitting really helps me to focus in on something else and ease my nerves.
  7. Scream into a pillow- just try it.  It really works! ;)
  8.  Write down anxieties and positive thoughts- this may be the most important tool I have had thus far.  Putting all of those thoughts onto paper allows you to sort through those thoughts a lot easier.  Highly recommend this!
  9. Music- whatever your favorite tune is, crank it up in the car or on your iPod.  Music has been proven to also cause a release of endorphins.  Plus, music is so much fun to listen to anyways. :)
  10. Think positive- telling yourself that you will get through the rough patches in life will really help you get through these hard times.  While this may seem obvious, it really can be easy to lose sight of it.  I know I most certainly have!
Hope this helps when you need to relax!
